Torres-Sunang ends up at 28th in Olympic long jump, fails to advance

MANILA, Philippines – Marestella Torres-Sunang missed a ticket to the long jump action after ranking only 28th overall in in the Olympics' qualifying round on Wednesday.
Torres-Sunang registered 6.22 meters, placing her 14th in the Group B ladder.
Only 10 athletes will advance into the final round.
Torres-Sunang, a four-time gold medalist in the Southeast Asian Games, is the 11th casualty for the Philippine contingent in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Earlier today, hurdle racer Eric Cray failed to punch a ticket to the men's 400m finals.
The Philippines' final athlete set to compete is jin Kirstie Alora, who will see action in women's over 67kg at 8 p.m. Saturday.
