Javillonar shines as NU foils CKSC

MANILA, Philippines – Paolo Javillonar dished out a double-double performance to power National University to a 54-50 win over Chiang Kai Shek College in Week Three of the Milcu Got Skills Elite Showcase 16-under tournament at the Far Eastern University gym.

Javillonar shot 10 points and hauled down 14 rebounds but the Bullpups needed to toughen up down the stretch to hold off their CKSC rivals at the start of their campaign in the tournament sponsored by Milcu and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.

Meanwhile, Diliman Preparatory School outplayed Manuel L. Quezon U, 42-34, in the 19-under division of the tournament also supported by Basketball TV, Gerry’s Grill, Gatorade, Clyde Shoe Cleaner, Kawasaki, LGR, SLAM, Rain or Shine, Honda, Coach Athletic Trainers Tape, Secret Fresh, Mighty Sports, Nousha Kebabs and Barbeque, and FMR Bus Services.

In the 25-under division, CJ Perez had 18 points and completed a double-double with 13 rebounds as Lyceum-A defeated Chiang Kai Shek College juniors, 54-44, while Enchong Serrano finished with 15 points to lead the Adamson juniors past Lyceum-B, 55-48.

FEU defeated Centro Escolar University, 52-46; De La Salle-Araneta University downed San Sebastian, 50-43; St. Dominic Savio College won over La Salle College-Antipolo, 74-71; Earist beat Letran, 60-54; and Polytechnic University of the Philippines outclassed Lyceum-Alabang, 87-63.
