Meralco Sparks, Jollibee forge partnership

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Loyola Meralco Sparks Football Club has linked up with the country’s No. 1 fastfood chain Jollibee in its continuing effort to grow into a football organization of world-class standards and one committed to raising football’s profile in the country.

“It’s a match made in heaven. Football, as we know, is a growing sport, we’ve been gaining ground over the years,” said Victor Genuino, Meralco vice president and head of the corporate business group, after the contract signing at the Meralco Compound.

The partnership brings together two of the country’s most prestigious brands, companies that are not only a source of Filipino pride, but believe in the importance of instilling the values of team work, dedication, and discipline, particularly among the nation’s youth and less privileged.

“We’d like to thank Jollibee for partnering with Loyola Meralco Sparks Football Club. We’re looking for a partner that’s going to go through this entire journey of developing football in the Philippines with Meralco and the Sparks,” said Genuino.

“We are also very happy and proud of this partnership. There are two symbols of joy that we have here – the joy of what you provide for football and the joy that you provide for the kids,” said Francis Flores, Jollibee’s Global Brand chief marketing officer.
