Nelson Beltran - Philstar.com

MANILA, Philippines – Blackwater player Gilbert Bulawan collapsed during practice Sunday at the SGS Gym in Del Monte, Quezon City and was declared dead on arrival as he was rushed to the nearby Capitol Medical Center.

The entire Blackwater team was shocked, considering they were only in light workout to introduce import Eric Dawson to their plays.

Practice was about to end when Bulawan held onto teammate Reil Cervantes then went unconscious.

The former San Sebastian Stag, who’s only turning 30 next month, was said to be in good form, among those performing the best in practice in the Blackwater team.

The Legazpi, Albay native was the 17th pick by the Meralco Bolts in the 2011 PBA rookie draft. He had played with the Bolts and the Barako Bull Energy before moving over the Blackwater.
