Saguiguit propels Olivarez vs Letran

MANILA, Philippines - Dwight Saguiguit scored on a charity in the last 1.5 seconds to power Olivarez College to another upset win, a 79-77 stopping of reigning NCAA champion Letran in the 22nd Fr. Martin Cup summer basketball tournament last Monday at the Coyuito gymnasium of the San Beda College-Manila campus in Mendiola.

Saguiguit’s basket off McJour Luib’s foul gave the Olivarez College Sea Lions a 3-3 win-loss slate at the end of their pre-season campaign in Group B.

The Knights, coached by Jeff Napa, advanced to the quarterfinals with a 5-1 slate.

The Sea Lions drew a game high 19 points from Saguiguit while Pruvil Bermudes added 15, and Jboy Solis shot 14.
