Javier, Poon top ABC singles tilt

MANILA, Philippines - Ronnie Javier of Steeltech Roofing carded a 1325 to bag the Group A crown while Randy Poon of American Wires and Cables lorded it over the Group B field with a 1224 in the Architects Bowling Club’s singles event championship at the E-Lanes Center in San Juan last week.

Manny Padit of Philflex Wires and Cables shot a 1314 to place second while Eugene Panaguiton of Boysen Knoxout turned in a 1292 to finish third in Group A.

Russel Mapanoo of Miraga Trade Center came in second to Poon with a 1224 while Violy Magsakay of Boysen Paints took third place with an 1190.

Meanwhile, the ABC family held another successful and fun-filled anniversary tour in Seoul, South Korea while ABC president Eugene Panaguiton is inviting all architects, sponsors, and ABC members to participate in the weekly tournament featuring the Masters qualifying, including the singles and doubles. The provincial qualifiers is set May 29-30 with the Masters final and awards rites slated May 31 at the E-Lanes.

The tournament, sponsored by Boysen Philippines, Boysen Acrytex/Knoxout/Healthy Homes/Wallguard, Dutch Boy, Crown Pipes, American Wires/Duraflex Wires and Cables, Philflex Wires and Cables, Emerald Pipes, EPCO Architectural Hardware, Consnet Builders, Miraga Trading, E.S.Vidal Builders, Romari Construction, DN Steel, Matson Builders, IFE Elevators, FMJ Electrical, Sogo Systems, Mighty Lynx, Lightcord Enterprises, HCG, Atlanta Pipes, Coach Furniture, Metro Cathay Trading, Morning Sun Glass, PRO Active Pest Control, Sygenta, Steel Tech Roof, Mitsubishi Elevators (IEEI), American Standards (Lixil), Glass Asia and Lucky Pipes, resumes at 5 p.m. today with the ABC anniversary games Master qualifying, including singles, doubles and team events. The regular Tuesday League Monthly Championship will start at 7:30 p.m., also at E-Lanes.
