Giants rout Realtors, reach semis

MANILA, Philippines - Jumbo Plastic ripped import-less Sta. Lucia Realty, 80-61, to clinch the other outright semifinal berth at the close of the PCBL Chairman’s Cup elims at the Marikina Sports Center Wednesday.

Jeff Viernes and ex-pro James Martinez each fired 21 points with the duo combining for eight triples as the Linoleum Giants dominated the Realtors to finish with an 8-4 slate and joined Mighty Sports in the semis.

Mighty Sports closed out its elims campaign with an 87-79 romp over Byaheng SCTEX to end up with a 10-2 card.

Mighty Sports and Jumbo Plastic take a bye in the quarterfinal round and will wait for the two other teams in the Final Four.

The tournament is backed by Hahn Manila, During’s Barbeque and Restaurant, LGR, Spalding and Ambucore. 

Clashing in the best-of-three quarterfinal round are No. 3 SCTEX, No. 4 Euro-Med, No. 5 Foton and No. 6 Sta. Lucia.
