The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – University of the East streaked to its fourth straight win by edging Far Eastern University, 68-66, and clinching the fourth and last twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinal round of the Smart-PCABL (Pilipinas Chinese Amateur Basketball League) Dickies Women’s Cup held recently at the RTU gym in Manila.

In a tight and exciting duel, the Lady Warriors proved steadier than their University Belt neighbors as Ruth Tacula took matters into her own hands, scoring seven of the team’s 10 points in the final frame.

The three other points by UE were registered by Eunique Chan who eventually finished with 23 points. Tacula added 15 while Nicole Mendina and Lovejoy Sto. Domingo combined for 23 markers.
