Roach here to start Pacman training

Abac Cordero - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Freddie Roach quietly flew in yesterday morning from Los Angeles and headed straight to General Santos City to supervise Manny Pacquiao’s training for his April 9 date with Timothy Bradley.

Roach will be on top of the training that’s expected to get tougher as the days go by.

Pacquiao will train in General Santos City.

Because of the coming elections, it’s possible that Pacquiao may take short, quick trips to Manila during the weekend.

Roach said there shouldn’t be any problem as long as he sees Pacquiao in the gym, training as hard as before, when needed.

The last half of the training will be held at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles. Plans have it that Pacquiao flies to the US on the first week of March or a month before the fight.

Roach is confident that Pacquiao will win the third fight against Bradley.

“I expect Manny to be at his best. I expect Manny to knock him out this time,” he said.

Pacquiao has promised a knockout win, which he hasn’t scored since he stopped Miguel Cotto almost six years ago.

Road said Pacquiao wants an impressive win, a knockout if possible, for his farewell fight.

“It’s the first time he brought that up to me, not me. He’s the first one to talk about a knockout this time,” said Roach.
