4 UAAP schools eye ISM star

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Four UAAP schools have expressed interest in recruiting International School Manila’s top high school player Tori Madrigal, including Ateneo, La Salle, University of Santo Tomas and Far Eastern University.

Madrigal has been described as a “phenom” in high school girls basketball in almost the same way Kiefer Ravena and Alyssa Valdez have been billed in college basketball and volleyball, respectively.

Just recently, Madrigal led ISM in the Inter-Scholastic Association of Southeast Asian Schools (IASAS), long considered as the most prestigious competition in girls’ high school basketball.

In her first game for the Bearcats in the IASAS, she scored 14 points to lead the team past IS Jakarta, 52-14. She then scored 17, 24 and 22 points against Singapore American School, Taipei American School at International School of Kuala Lumpur, respectively.

In her four years at IASAS, Madrigal has not missed a game in 106 assignments for ISM, making it to the Mythical Team each time.

Aside from leading her school in scoring and steals, teammates praise Madrigal for being a very vocal leader.

But Madrigal remains undecided on where to study and play for in college but for sure, any school will use her talents to the hilt.
