MANILA, Philippines - La Salle seeks to get back on track following a painful defeat to National University as it clashes with an unpredictable Adamson today in the 78th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City.
After hurdling their first two assignments, the Lady Spikers ran into the game National U Lady Bulldogs and absorbed a stinging 16-25, 24-26, 25-14, 23-25 defeat Wednesday that sent them at joint second with the latter on 2-1 (win-loss) records.
The Alyssa Valdez-led reigning back-to-back champion Ateneo currently leads the way with a perfect 3-0 mark.
La Salle though is expected to bounce back strong against Adamson, tied at No. 4 with State U on 1-1 cards, in their 2 p.m. duel.
“We need to play with a sense of urgency,” said La Salle coach Ramil de Jesus. “We also need to be more focused and minimize errors.”
The game against Adamson will not be a walk in the park for La Salle though as Lady Falcons have shown promise after splitting their first two assignments.
After edging UST in the season-opener, Adamson fell to NU despite seizing the opening set and lost, 25-17, 20-25, 20-25, 20-25, a week back.
Far Eastern U and Santo Tomas, for their part, try to shake off their struggles and collide at 4 p.m.
The Lady Tams have dropped two of their first three outings while the Tigresses shoot for their first win after losing their first two games.
