7 lead W Slasher title chase

MANILA, Philippines – Seven entries romped off with four wins apiece in the second semifinal playdate Wednesday to lead the cast in the championship round of the World Slasher Cup-1 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Bobby Inigo/Dennis Reyes/Jimmy Junsay’s Darth Vader Jared; Greggy Norman/O Lim/Jimmy D. Cacayan’s Anak ni Pepe NSL; Mario Villamor/Ed Aparri/Atty. Art de Castro’s Phoenix – II; Dr. Marvin Rocafort/Anthony Jacinto/CDLS’s El Campeon/DW; Rene Medina’s Lucky Chances; Thunderbird-1’s Nene Araneta; and former Slasher champion Vice Mayor Jubee Navarro’s J-Genesis-Lucky 7 all beat their respective rivals to stay in the title hunt in the event sponsored by Thunderbird, BMEG and Petron and hosted by the Pintakasi of Champions.

The four-day finals will be held tomorrow.

Also in the hunt with three wins and one draw are Art de Castro/Walter Ozaeta’s Thunderbee Angry Bird; and Jun Villanueva/Edwin Dimagiba’s Manila Teachers Partylist-2.
