DSCPI holds DanceSport National Championships

MANILA, Philippines - More than 300 participants all over the country participated in the 19th DanceSport Council of the Philippines (DSCPI) National Championships at the Philsports Multi-Purpose Arena (Ultra), Pasig yesterday.

DSCPI president Becky Garcia said various dancesports athletes from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao joined the ranking competition supported by the Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, Flawless, Vitug Beach Resort, Retro DCG-FM 105.9, Studio 116, Studio AK, Caruso Ristorante Italiano and The Greenery Bulacan.

Seven World DanceSport Federation licensed adjudicators – Christian Bradbury from Hong Kong, Euvgenia Parakhina (Netherlands),  Luis Alberto Pereira (Macau), Boon Lan Ivy Por (Malaysia), Chu Tan Duc (Vietnam),  Qingshu Zhang (China) and Gheorghe Raducan (Romania) – were present during the competition.

Philippine adjudicators also in attendance were Maira Bernales, Edgardo Borromeo, Michael Mendoza and Julie Plummer.

Members of the DSCPI board of directors , led by Noel Laman as chairman, are  Andy Fornier (secretary general),  Emma Nieto (asst. secgen and sports director), Gloria Alcala (treasurer)and  Marvie Cojuangco-Yulo, Ambassador Antonio Lagdameo, Edward Hayco, Chona Mercado, Nanette Mendoza,  Rebecca Jose, Manuel Yan, Marge Vitug, Girme Gutierrez and Luis Morales.
