Fortuna rules Obstacle Challenge at PBA All-Star
PUERTO Princesa – San Miguel Beermen third string point guard Jeric Fortuna came out of nowhere to steal the thunder in the Obstacle Challenge at the start of the 2015 PBA All-Star weekend events on Friday at a jampacked Puerto Princesa City Coliseum here.
Fortuna took advantage of the other finalists' miscues to run away with the title on his rookie year.
Jonas Villanueva, a four-time Obstacle Challenge champion, and elimination topnotcher Chris Banchero all missed their shots at the top of the key to miss out on the crown.
With the title for his taking, Fortuna stepped on the pedal and ran away with the title in 32 seconds.
"Naging confident lang ako sa sarili ko. Nag-relax lang ako at nagdasal ako," Fortuna later said.
The rookie won P60,000 for his effort.
