MANILA, Philippines - Petron dominated Cignal with its power game and came away with a 25-23, 25-16, 25-21 victory to roll into the finals of the 2014 Philippine Superliga Grand Prix presented by Asics at the Cuneta Astrorome yesterday.

Generika also fashioned out a 25-23, 25-16, 25-23 victory over RC Cola-Air Force to arrange a title showdown with Petron tomorrow.

The Blaze Spikers overpowered their rivals in the early going then sustained their form to complete the straight-set win and nail the first finals slot in the women’s division of the inter- club tournament organized by Sports Core.

Cignal, on the other hand, will face RC Cola for the battle for third.

Foton and Mane ‘N Tail, meanwhile, clash for fifth place in the event backed by Air 21, My Phone, Via Mare, Mikasa, Mueller Sports Medicine, Healthway Medical, Generika Drugstore, LGR and Jinling Sports as technical partners.

Aside from becoming the league’s first champion since Philippine Army dominated the first three conferences, the winner also gets the chance to represent the country in the Asian Women’s Inter-Club Championship in Vietnam in April next year.

But Petron coach George Pascua refused to look that far.

American import Alaina Bergsma played an inspired game in observance of the US Thanksgiving Day, firing 18 hits, four blocks and three aces to finish with game-high 25 points
