The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Teams Red, Blue and Yellow finished tied for first, highlighting the successful staging of the third Cancer Resource and Wellness (Carewell) Community Foundation Tennis Fundraiser at the Manila Polo Club in Makati recently.

Nearly 100 players took part in the day-long competition, held to raise funds to support programs, resources, and services geared towards helping persons affected by cancer and at the same time foster camaraderie among participants.

Meanwhile, Carewell cited tournament directors and coaches John Rey Moreno and Roland Kraut for the event’s success, along with skippers of the competing teams, including Jaeger Tanco and Margo Flores (Red), Hanky Lee and Nikki Poblador (Blue), Roland So and Jen Um (Yellow), and Mike Ozaeta and Beth Dizon (Green), along with the host club’s management, including its Tennis Committee and Sports and Athletics Department.

Other sponsors of the event were Wide Wide World Express Corporation, Mapfre Insular Insurance Corp., Real Estate and Financial Investment group, Planet Sports, First Life Financial Company, Global Restaurant Concepts, Raintree Restaurants, Tecnifibre, My Sommelier, Krispy Kreme, Med Central, Picole’ Healthy Ice Pops with The Philippine STAR, DZRJ FM, RJ100.3FM, and MELLOW 94.7 as media partners.
