Bernardino sparks NU decision over UE belles

MANILA, Philippines - Afril Bernardino fired 19 points, snared eight rebounds and dished off three assists as National University routed University of the East, 81-59, to stretch its win run to four in the UAAP Season 77 women’s basketball at the Mall of Asia Arena yesterday.

Gemma Miranda added 12 markers and eight boards for the Lady Bulldogs, who outscored the Lady Warriors, 24-6, in the second period to pull away and tie defending champion La Salle at the helm.

UE dropped to 1-3 to join University of Santo Tomas in sixth place.

The match was originally scheduled last Thursday at the Blue Eagle Gym was called off due to slippery court. The Lady Bulldogs were leading the Lady Warriors, 6-3, when play stopped.
