Bulldogs rip Falcons in lopsided game, 62-25

Aldo Avinante - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – National University walloped a hapless Adamson University squad via a 62-25 rout in the 77th season of the UAAP Men's basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday.

JJ Alejandro topscored for the Bulldogs with 13 points while Gelo Alolino added 10 markers and handed out four assists in a dominant performance that helped them climb to the top of the standings with a 4-1 mark.

NU raced to a 19-3 lead at end the first quarter, stifled Adamson's offense and never looked back.

Ironically, the last team to score three points in the first quarter was also NU last Aug 27, 2009.

Adamson now holds the worst shooting game since 2003, shooting 16 percent on Wednesday. The previous record was set UP when the Maroons shot 18.5 percent on Sept. 7, 2013 against Ateneo.
