MANILA, Philippines – Juan Manuel Marquez made sure it won’t go to the scorecards this time.

Marquez left no doubt as to who’s the better fighter between him and Manny Pacquiao, knocking the Filipino icon out cold on his belly to settle the score in their fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas today.

The end came at the end of the sixth round as Pacquiao walked straight into a booming right hand by Marquez. Pacquiao crumbled down to the canvas and stayed motionless for some time, and referee Kenny Bayless immediately waved off the fight.

The official time of the knockout was 2:59 of Round 6.

"I threw the perfect punch. I saw he was going for a 1-2. I stepped into the right and hit him," a vindicated Marquez said of the devastating blow that broke the hearts of millions of Filipinos.

It was a fitting end for Marquez, whose vastly improved physique translated into more power. The Mexican decked Pacquiao with haymaker in round 3 to the shock of Filipino fans in the packed venue. Pacquiao beat the count and managed to recover near the end of the round.

"I'm very happy. Four and a half months (of training) led to this. I knew I was strong and I was quick. It led to this," Marquez added.

In another epic fight, the two fighters were involved in some vicious exchanges, like they did in their previous three fights. Pacquiao shrugged off the first knockdown and sent Marquez to the canvas in the fifth canto with a sneaky left straight.

Pacquiao pummeled Marquez for the rest of the round and appeared to be in control in the next canto. That is, until he got knocked out cold.

The knockout likewise stunned the Filipino crowd in attendance, with Pacquiao’s wife Jinkee shown sobbing as her husband lay still on the canvas.

The loss was Pacquiao’s third by way of knockout, having been previously stopped by compatriot Rustico Torrecampo and Thailand’s Medgoen Singsurat.

Marquez improved to 54-6-1, with 40 KOs.

There will be next time, the 6th fight between the Pacman and Marquez. This time the Pacman just walk right into a haymaker. 'hope the Pinoy world will still regard Manny as a hero, his accomplishments in life and the boxing world are worth at least a page or two in our history books.

No title at stake here. Bradley snatched the WBO welterweight title in that controversial fight last June.

Like most pinoys, MP is also devastated by this lost but this is boxing, it happens to best of them from Ali to Tyson to Lewis. From Barrera to dela Hoya to Mosley and the list goes on and on. MP will rise from this. The next best thing that he should do is to contemplate retiring. Surely, like most of us, MP is still has his eyes set on the biggest fight there is, that is vs Mayweather. But if it ain't happening, let's hope that MP doesn't go the way of other celebrated fighters who kept fighting even if they are already past their prime. MP has proven he's the best of his generation and has done so much to bring back the glory days of boxing. If Mayweather vs MP isn't going to happen then MP should hang his gloves and focus on his political career. There is life after boxing and am sure MP knows that.

It's time for Manny to retire. He is slowing down and his body could no longer absord the blows. I surprised that Manny was knocking down by one pucnh of Marquez in the second round. Since he entered politics, his performance in the ring declines. We could no longer see him knock down his opponent. This is to say that we cannot serve two masters at the same time. He practiced late, coming to the US not on time. While Marquez concentrated his practice on time by giving enough time to develop his power to absord the throws of Manny. I believe that if they encounter the the fifth time, Marquez will still emerge to be the winner based on his style of just waiting Manny to attack. Manny, you better retire that to fight Marquez the fifth time because it can just frustrate you.

PACQUIAO GOT THE LIVING CRAP BEAT OUT OF HIM LOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL OF YOU FILIPINOS ARE OWNED FOR ETERNITY!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE PACFAG GOT DEMOLISHED, DESTROYED, OWNED, BEAT DOWN LIKE A SCRAWNY LITTLE BITCH RFOLMAOOAM ALL OF YOU JACKASSES CAN STAY OWNED FOR LIFE. MAYWEATHER WILL ALWAYS BE KING AND WILL ALWAYS OWN ALL OF YOU MAYWEATHER AND MARQUEZ JUST TOOK A FAT SHYT ON ALL YOUR FACES HAHAHAHAAHHA PACQUIAO IS OWNED FOREVER WITH LOVE FROM USA USA USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny how the Filipino nation never arrogantly displayed hubris with every pacquiao win and here you are celebrating like a mad dog like the japanese did after they attacked Pearl Harbor.

GO die u jackass. After every win, you and all your pacfagfans would boast as if he was the greatest of all time. Pacquiao barely makes the top 100. Hes not even in the top 50. He is garbage and no where near the level of Floyd Mayweather. The truth is, he saw what happened to LANCE ARMSTRONG, and he stopped using steroids and performance enhancing drugs. Thats why you dont see him swinging 1000 punches a fight any more. Pacquiao would rather risk losing fights than being caught and having his entire reputation destroyed. HEs a cheating sack of shit and he got what was coming. When pacquiao hit the floor and got knocked out, I was sooooooooooo SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LROFLMAOAMOMAOAMLAMAOM All you jackass pacfagfans can finally shut your mouths. HE ate the biggest pile of shit in history with that punch from marquez. BOW DOWN PACQUIAO!!!!!!!!! BOW DOWN@UPOOI@I@OI@I HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA YSHAHAHIAOHAOIAHOIHAOIAH KLOLOOOLLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

In God's time ! all will be humbled and this is a clear enough sign for Manny to hang his gloves. Sad to end this way , a lesson to learn when to quit.

Pacman was beaten up really good, what a humbling experience.

Sino kaya ang nasa panaginip ni Pacman. Hmmmmmpppp.

Nangisay nung bumagsak. Anyway, this is the nature of this sport - boxing, beat your opponent and beat them hard ! People enjoys and pay a high price seeing that. No worries, this fight is worth more than 1B PHP for Pacman win or loose. Pacman is so lucky to have this opportunity to win big money and at the same time bring pride to the country - can't ask for more.

Well, Pacman gets USD8.5M while Marquez gets USD3M and of course the TITLE.

Ganun lang talaga boxing. Can't win all the time. Even the great Muhamad ali lost a few. Ang pangit lang sa ibang Pilipino, magagaling manisi. Parang mga buwitre na umaaligid aligid at hinihintay na bumagsak si Pacquiao. Please lang, stop the blame! Stop the mockery! Still proud of you Manny. You have the heart of a true warrior!

If Pacman still wants to continue his boxing career, he should be more concentrated and seriously trained. If not he should stop fighting as a boxer, Considering his countryman love and respect him as a leader, I believe it is better for him to lead to fight CORRUPTION in the government. GO PACMAN to lead this country for the benefit of the Filipinos.

Honestly, i felt sorry for Pacman and to those Filipino fans. However, I feel so happy for Marquez on his victory. It only shows that Marquez has something to say. I'm afraid baka sabihin na naman ni Pacman na nadaya sya. Which he said na "lucky punch" daw yun. Whatever it was, TKO pa rin sya. Kaya I call for his retirement. Wake up Pacman, maybe your career/fame on boxing is over.

it is fitting to mourn the victims of mudslide and landslide brought by typhoon Pablo and the devastation of environment by logging and mining but not to mourn the loss of the boxing Champion...it is just a Bloody sport that one has to win...and this Time it was Marquez turn..

Why should we mourn?

end of the road for manny's boxing career. next to fall is his endorsement.... then, a year or two, there'll be no taker in showbiz... the last, perhaps within 6 years, he'll never win in any electoral process. that time, he can focus himself a lot in what he would like everyone to believe, that he is a preacher.
