Tsui, Rivera split honors in Carmona series

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - CJ Tsui of Industria Racing and Milo Rivera of Fern-C Racing topped their respective events in the KF2-KF3 Cup Series at the Carmona Racetrack in Cavite recently.

Tsui, 17, held his own in the KF2 class against his veteran rivals in Round 3 while Rivera, who ruled the Phl leg of the recent Asian Karting Open, rallied to claim victory in Round 4.

Cebuano Jette Calderon of Red Bull Supreme-Industria Racing and Estefano Rivera of Fern-C Racing also split honors in the KF3 division. Calderon turned back Rivera in Round 3 but the latter got back at Calderon in Round 4 as he dictated the tempo throughout.

Raymond Cudala of Fern-C Racing checked in third in both races with Daniel Miranda of Cebuana Lhuillier-Marcelo Racing and Joseph Marwin Rojo of Industria Racing finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.

Milo Rivera actually seized control in the early goings of Round 3, enjoying a wide distance against Tsui and Industria Racing teammate Bobby Domingo until the 13th lap where a loose worn out tire caused him to spin out and take the early exit.

The event was sanctioned by the Automobile Association Phils., supported by the Philippine Sports Commission and sponsored by Yokohama the official tires, Coca-Cola, Sparco, Vivere the official home of Asian karters, Motorstar and Aeromed.

Domingo made a big move on the 12th lap to wrest second place from Tsui and soon took over the pole on the 14th lap after Rivera’s ouster.
