MANILA, Philippines - What's the craziest revenge you could do to your other half after a break up? Literally break all the priced possessions you once owned into half and sell it on ebay.
A video showing a man aka "Martin G" cut a TV screen, iPhone, bed and car into half has caught the Internet's attention, including the website Reddit and TIME. The video’s description, written in German, roughly translates to: “Thank you for 12 ‘beautiful years,’ Laura! You’ve really earned half. Greetings also to my successor.”
After making a buzz on the Internet, German online magazine Deutsche Anwaltauskunft, operated by German Bar Association (DAV) claimed that the video is fake and that it is in fact an ad about finding lawyers and about the importance of marriage contracts and legalities around marriage.
"The idea behind it was to humorously point to a problem that is not only relevant in Germany: Too few married couples take precautions for the case of a possible separation – for example with a marriage contract. The event of divorce then often ends in bitter fights under which not only cars and furniture suffer but especially the effected couples and their children," the article says.
The organization admitted that they did not expect that the video will reach millions of viewers. As of today, the video has nearly six million views. Meanwhile, they also said that all the items do really exist and will be auctioned and all proceeds will go to a charity.
