MANILA, Philippines - Landmark Department Store gears up to serve residents in the South of Manila, as it breaks ground at a new location at Festival Supermall in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

“Landmark Alabang is poised to be a sought-after new retail destination in the South, serving not only the Muntinlupa, Las Piñas and Parañaque areas, but also people from Laguna, Batangas, and Cavite. We have plenty of customers from the South who go out of their way to Makati or even Quezon City to shop at the store, so this is good news for them,” says Kenneth Keng, assistant to the executive vice-president of the Landmark Corporation.

The new department store will have a gross floor area of 60,000 square meters, following the design by Seattle-based design firm MADesign.  “The design of Landmark Alabang will complement Festival Supermall’s new wing which is part of the expansion project. We wanted to give the building a modern feel while incorporating natural elements, true to the vision of Filinvest,” says architect. Martin Anderson, president of MADesign and chief designer of the project.

The Landmark was founded in 1988 by businessman Teddy Keng. In its 27 years of operation, the department store has earned a reputation for providing excellent choices for apparel, shoes, bags, accessories, furniture and home décor, cosmetics and body care, stationery, and more. Aside from the Alabang branch set to open in late 2015, Landmark also has outlets in Makati and Quezon City.

The new Landmark branch further strengthens Festival Supermall’s variety of retail offerings. Landmark will be the mall’s sixth anchor store, after Shopwise Supercenter, SaveMore, Robinsons Department Store, Ace Hardware and Handyman.

“We’re very happy to welcome Landmark to Festival Supermall. The store has been beloved by shoppers for decades, so we are excited to have them with us,” states Josephine Gotianun-Yap, president of Filinvest Land, Inc. “Landmark will be a great locator in the Alabang area, somewhere that the people in the community will enjoy coming to.”
