Rizal barangay joins Racumin's RatAttack project

-

MANILA, Philippines - Barangay San Isidro in Taytay, Rizal recently showed a united community effort against rat infestation by joining Racumin’s RatAttack project.

No less than Taytay Mayor Joric Gacula showed his support to the event that saw barangay residents learn important trivia and tips, courtesy of Racumin, on how to prevent rats from spreading their dreaded killer diseases in their community.

Barangay San Isidro chairwoman Elizabeth Baliwag and members of the barangay council were on hand to welcome the mayor and officials of Neumann & Mueller Philippines Inc., which handles Bayer Advanced Racumin in the Philippines.

The event saw activities tailored-fit to Bayer’s theme of “Protecting Your Family and Community.”

Neumann & Mueller operations manager Bubbles Santos led the lecture on rats — from their eating and sleeping habits to how they have learned to outwit traditional instant-kill poisons, and lastly, how they can outwit rats with the help of Racumin’s three products: Racumin Paste, Ready-Made Bait, and Tracking Powder.

Event host Chris Cahilig, meanwhile, asked the members of the community rat-related questions. Those who answered correctly won Racumin products and shirts.

Singer Myrus Ramirez then surprised the barangay folk with a rendition of popular hits.

“We are happy that many residents joined this special event. This goes to show that they are united in maintaining the health and safety of their community,” said Mari-Gail Lasam-Cruz, marketing manager of Neumann & Mueller.

Unlike traditional rat-killing products, Racumin has a delayed killing action, meaning it takes effect after a couple of days and rats would not be able to know that it was actually the product that killed their fellow rodents. By then they would have ingested Racumin already. Bayer developed the product this way for long-term eradication.

Racumin Tracking Powder is effective as bait and also doubles as a tracking powder to help identify where rats dwell. Racumin Ready-Made Bait, made from fragrant rice which cereal-loving rodents find irresistible, is effective against mice as well as rats.

And for utmost convenience, Racumin Paste in easy-to-use sachets can be placed whenever one suspects that rats are threatening his home and community.

Rats are prone to infesting both soil and water. Last year alone, close to 200 people died of leptospirosis after having direct contact with rat urine.

Likewise, around three years ago, a sleeping baby had her hands gnawed at by rats.

“The Racumin RatAttack project is not just about getting rid of pesky rodents, but making sure that our loved ones are in a safe and healthy environment free of rats,” Cruz said.
