CESAFI bootfest resumes with crucial double-header today

CEBU, Philippines — The tertiary football action of the 2017 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) season will resume today, with the defending champion University of San Carlos (USC) hoping to end its elimination round campaign with a bang when it takes on the University of the Visayas (UV) at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Prior to the USC-UV match set at 3 pm, the University of Cebu (UC) and the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) take on each other in the 1 pm opener.

The USC Golden Booters currently stand with 11 points and they need only at least a draw with UV to advance into the championship round without any glitch.

They must be extra careful though as the UV Green Booters are also in hot pursuit of a finals ticket with eight points.

USJ-R, UC and the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) also in contention still with seven points each, making today's double-header more exciting. (FREEMAN)
