Mabinay LGU to construct boulevard along the river
CEBU, Philippines - Boulevards around the country are usually found along seashores but the municipal government of Mabinay in Negros Oriental had thought of constructing a boulevard along the town's river, to be financed with funds from the national government, as facilitated by 2nd district Representative Manuel Sagarbarria.
Mabinay Mayor Ernesto Dyango Uy confirmed this planned project, which he said will complement the major tourist attractions of the town, considering that it will located near the People's Park that has been conceptualized with the Singaporean model.
The boulevard, by the Namangyan River, is about 2.5-kilometer long. Bidding of the first phase of the project had been undertaken at P30 million from the total package of P130 million. The Mabinay LGU's counterpart is the paving of the road and a riprap, which can also be used as a river control. (FREEMAN)
