Donaire pinupuntirya ng 2-boxers
MANILA, Philippines - Ngayon pa lamang ay may boksingero nang tinitingnan si five-division world champion Nonito ‘The Filipino Flash’ Donaire, Jr. sakaling manalo kay Jessie Magdaleno sa Nobyembre 6 (Manila time) sa Thomas & Mack Center sa Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dalawa sa mga ito, ayon kay Donaire (37-3-0, 24 KOs) ay sina Carl Frampton (23-0-0, 14 KOs) at Leo Santa Cruz (32-1-1, 18 KOs), mag-aagawan para sa WBA featherweight title sa Enero 28, 2017.
“The truth is that if I win on November 5th, the next thing I want to do is going against Leo Santa Cruz or Carl Frampton,” sabi ng 33-anyos na tubong Ta-libon, Bohol sa pana-yam ng ESPN Deportes.
Hinirang si Donaire bilang Fighter of the Year matapos talunin sina dating world champions Israel Vazquez, Jr., Jeffrey Mathebula, Toshiaki Nishioka at Jorge Arce.
“I’m a warrior and I want the big fights. Expect me in big fights at 126 pounds,” wika ni Donaire, sinasanay ni Cuban trainer Ismael Salas.
“This November 5th you will see a new era, that is what Ismael Salas has given me. They will see a different Nonito, with very strong mentality, from this point mo-ving forward.”
Minsan nang naging trainer ni Magdaleno si Salas.
“I know Ismael Salas trained Jessie Magdaleno, but really we do not focus on that. I’m at an incre-dible level. Ismael has brought out the best of me. I’m more focused on what I’m doing when I’m with,” ani Donaire. (RC)
