Robredo: I need to campaign more in NCR
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — While she is happy that she is now the front-runner in pre-election surveys, Liberal Party vice presidential candidate Leni Robredo said she is not complacent and will concentrate more in the National Capital Region, where she got a low rating.
In a press conference in this city on Tuesday, at the sidelines of the LP rally in four key cities in Negros Occidental, Robredo said she is “already No. 1 in the Visayas, No. 1 in Mindanao, No. 1 in Bicol” but I will now spend more time in north Luzon.”
“The battle ground is Regions 3, 4, and NCR. If you look at the numbers now, the NCR standing is very low. Historically, it is always anti-administration. But then, I am not giving it up. We discussed that for the next 13 days, 60 percent of the time will be spent in Luzon and in Metro Manila,” she told The Freeman.
Robredo said the election trend now is different because the campaign is not issue-based, and the consideration of the voters is more on personalities or those who capture their imagination.
Robredo appealed to the voters in Negros Occidental to help them win the election along with LP presidential candidate Mar Roxas and all the LP senatorial candidates.
“Kahit talunan ako noong umpisa, pero patuloy ang suportang ibinibigay ng mga opisyal ng Negros Occidental. Sa pangalawang balik namin sa Negros Occidental, mas uminit pa ang pagsuporta ng mga taga dito sa amin,” Robredo said during a sortie in Cadiz City, where about 30,000 people attended. — (FREEMAN)
