CATBALOGAN CITY, Philippines – Officials of the Odin Energy of South Korea on Tuesday met with city government officials for the final discussion on the proposed construction of the first out-of-the-country wind energy project, the Odin Energy Wind Tower.

This tower will be built by Odin Energy at Catbalogan City’s Skycity Mega Project, and company and city government executives had ironed out matters involving the main construction contract and signatories, some revisions of the original design, start of the construction works, equities and capital sharing, and power production usage, among others.

Initial information obtained from the City Hall showed that the Odin Wind Energy Tower will start construction in six months time, at a total cost of about US$2.4 million.

Sources from the City Hall also informed that the original 11-storey tower type structure was revised to 13 storeys, the additional two floors of which will be used as viewing deck and restaurants to cater to visitors and tourists.

Income that will be derived from the power, generated by the Wind Tower, will be utilized to come up with more wind or green energy structures within Catbalogan later on.

Odin Energy officials also meet various stakeholders to discuss remaining issues relative to the construction of the Wind Tower Project. They will also proceed to Sierra Island where a similar project was proposed by their company for implementation. (FREEMAN NEWS)
