Negrense tops LET; 6 more also in Top 10

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – A Negrense topped the Licensure Examination for Teachers that was given on August 2014 while six others were in the Top 10, according to the results released yesterday.

Nixon Somblingo Balandra of the Philippine Normal University-Cadiz City got 90.20 percent to place first in the LET for secondary teachers, out of 77,803 examinees.

Karl Laurenz Gonzaga Diamante of Colegio de San Agustin-Bacolod was third with an average of 89.80 percent.

Mark Xavier Aguirre Guanzon of the University of St. La Salle, also in Bacolod, was in the fifth place after he scored 89.20 percent.

In the elementary level, Quennie Klaire Avila Elli of USLS placed third after she got 88.80 percent.

Janice Gentille Alison of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, who scored 88.60 percent, took fourth place.

Rounding up the Top 10 were Jerry De la Cruz Ducay of PNU-Cadiz, who was on eight spot, with 87.80 percent and Elma Barredo Pantilagan of Carlos Hilado Memorial State College-Talisay City who got 10th place after she scored 87.40 percent.

A total of 25,301 teachers out of the 70,786 examinees (35.74 percent) passed the elementary level while 26,767 secondary teachers passed out of the 77,803 examinees (34.40 percent).

Also, USLS was eighth in the Top 10 schools in the secondary level after 69 of its 86 examinees, or 80.23 percent, passed the exam.
