1-month-old baby dies in Calbayog City fire

CEBU, Philippines - A one-month-old baby died in a fire that hit a residential area in Calbayog City of Samar late Monday afternoon.

Initial reports cited by radio dzBB stated the fire started at 5 p.m. but was put out after two hours.

GMA News' Unang Balita reported as many as 60 houses were razed in the fire, which spread quickly as the houses were made of light materials.

Families affected by the fire are now staying at a nearby school, the report added. Arson investigators are still determining what caused the fire.
