MANILA, Philippines — A Canada-based product designer and travel enthusiast will give away her pricey camera and its accompanying lens to whoever she picks as her favorite among those who tweet her their best photo.

Helen Tran posted the challenge on Twitter Sunday telling those who want to join to reply to her tweet with their best photos. Her post gathered over 2,000 responses and more than a thousand likes and retweets as of Tuesday morning.

Tran said the reason she's giving it away is that it turned out she would never bring the camera, designed for outdoor and action photography, on a hiking trip.

"I used to be a photographer, used to own a studio and shoot models for modeling agencies. Sometimes I think I want to do it again, so last year I thought I wanted to get back into it," Tran told Philstar.com.

"But now that I'm older, my hobbies have changed. I do long distance hiking, and it requires that I have a light backpack. I originally thought I would want to bring this camera with me, but when I tried it I realized I didn't want to do it again. I like hiking more than I like photography."

She said she decided to give it away instead of selling it as she knows there are many people who love the art of photography like she used to.

Tran still takes terrific photos using her phone.

"I'm giving away my Fujifilm X-T1 and a Fujinon XF 14mm F2.8 because I want it to be owned by someone who would love it," she said.

"Reply to THIS TWEET with the best picture you've ever taken with your phone"

She, however, warned those who want to enter not to beg or write in their tweet or photo.

"Seriously, NO WORDS, I'll disqualify you."

Online price comparisons of the Fujifilm X-T1 kit peg it between P56,500 and P98,000.

Tran said she will choose the winner on September 23.

"You have to pay the shipping, though," she added.

Here are some photos from those hoping to win the camera.
