Tripartite agreement signed for OFW registration

MANILA, Philippines -  The Department of Foreign Affairs and Commission on Elections (Comelec) have signed a tripartite memorandum of agreement with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration that will allow the agencies to jointly establish a pre-departure registration center for departing overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

The agreement for the continuing registration amd certification of qualified overseas Filipino voters was signed on Wednesday.

The DFA’s Overseas Voting Secretariat plans to open registration centers at the DFA Office of Consular Affairs, ASEANA in Pasay City and DFA satellite offices in SM Manila, Robinsons Galleria and Alabang; and regional consular offices in Davao, Cebu and Pampanga in the next few months.

The overseas voter registration for the 2016 elections netted a cumulative total of 1,376,067 active registered overseas voters.
