CEBU, Philippines -  The 1901st Ready Reserve Infantry Brigade bested 13 other Reservist organizations nationwide, having been declared by Headquarters Army Reserve Command as "Outstanding Reservist Unit of the Year for 2016".

The awarding was held last September 12 at the Camp Riego de Dios in Tanza, Cavite, home of the Army Reserve Command. The guest of honor and speaker was Rear Admiral Ernesto Enriquez, the Deputy Chief of Staff for Reservist and Retiree Affairs.  Brigade Commander, Colonel Erik Miguel Espina, son of former Cebu governor and senator Rene Espina received the "Command Plaque" of distinction.

Michael Giovan Sarthou, popularly known as Chef Tatung, was in Cebu recently to launch his book at the Original Pino with Joel del Prado hosting lunch for the media. Chef Tatung's book, "Philippine Cooker: From Heart to Platter" under ABS-CBN publishing, has recently entered the National Bookstore bestseller list. He also hosts a weekly segment on ABS-CBN Channel 2's "Umagang Kay Ganda," entitled "Kwentong Kawali ni Chef Tatung" every Wednesday and he will soon be presenting a four-part documentary special on Lifestyle TV called "The Food that We Are".

Seeing the need for a good steakhouse that will set the standard in Cebu, the Anzani International Group opened Anzani Prime at the second floor of The Tinder Box, a welcome addition to Cebu's dynamic dining scene, Chef Marco and Kate Anzani's latest venture is dedicated to highlighting meat in its best element. Kate Anzani said, "After an assessment of the overall concepts in Cebu, there was a gap. My husband was looking for a good piece of steak, so we sourced the world for it and brought the experience back home to make it available to the local market."

The Family and Recovery Management (Farm Group of Facilities) joined the Rotary Club Advocacy at the Ayala Center Cebu two full moons ago. Presently, the Farm Group of Facilities has four recovery centers in Cebu. It also has centers in Tacloban, Bohol, and recently, in Iloilo for a total of 7 centers all in all. The recovery centers deal with assisting and guiding individuals to get rehabilitated from drug addiction, alcoholism, gambling disorders, and anger management.

The facilities cater to the needs of the different strata of society -  it has high end facilities, centers that are exclusive for women, as well as facilities for "tokhang" surrenderers.
