Village execs shot dead

MANILA, Philippines – Two barangay officials were shot dead in separate incidents in Batangas and Zambales yesterday morning.

Leonor Angeles, chairman of Barangay Clara in Sto. Tomas town, was at her office when a man who claimed to be a sales agent entered and shot her at close range.

Angeles was pronounced dead on arrival at the St. Cabrini Hospital.

In Iba town, Liza Ednalan, 45, secretary and treasurer of Barangay Dirita, was waiting for a tricycle along Govic Highway when she was gunned down.
