Panalo ng Bullpups sa Junior Warriors binawi
MANILA, Philippines — Nawalan ng saysay ang panalo ng National University sa University of the East sa UAAP Season 80 juniors basketball tournament.
Ito ay matapos matuklasan ng UAAP Management Committee na hindi kumpleto ang eligibility requirements ni Jayson Puray na naglaro sa 107-69 panalo ng Bullpups laban sa Junior Warriors.
Nagtala ng walong puntos at tatlong rebounds si Puray sa naturang laro.
“Records show that in their game against UE, NU fielded a player who was not able to satisfy the eligibility requirements in the UAAP,” wika ni UAAP executive director Atty. Rebo Saguisag sa inilabas na memo ng liga.
Dahil dito, ipinataw ng UAAP ang forfeiture sa naturang laro.
Mula sa 6-1 rekord, bumagsak sa 5-2 ang Bullpups habang sumampa sa winnner’s column ang Junior Warriors hawak ang 1-6 marka.
“NU won said game, but the win will have to be forfeited and otherwise awarded to UE,” ayon pa sa memo.
Ayon sa paliwanag ng NU, kumpleto ang requirements ni Puray subalit hindi ito umabot sa deadline na ibinigay ng UAAP Management Committee.
