PSL Tankers lumangoy ng 16 ginto sa Dubai Meet

Sina Philippine Swimming League President Susan Papa kasama si Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh na winalis ang lahat ng kanyang 12 events sa 2017 Hamilton Aquatics Winter Long Course Swimming Cham­pionships sa Dubai.

MANILA, Philippines — Tinapos ng Philippine Swimming League (PSL) ang kampanya nito tangan ang kabuuang 16 ginto, anim na pilak at limang tansong medalya sa 2017 Hamilton Aquatics Winter Long Course Swimming Championships na ginanap sa Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Sports Complex sa Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Sa huling araw ng kumpetisyon, nakahirit pa ang Pinoy tankers ng walong ginto, tatlong pilak at dalawang tansong medalya tampok ang anim pang gintong medalya mula kay Female Swimmer of the Year Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh.

Humirit pa ng ginto si Mojdeh sa girls’ 11-year 200m Individual Medley (2:39.96), 50m butterfly (31.28), 400m freestyle (5:01.31), 50m breaststroke (37.60), 100m freestyle (1:07.71) at 200m butterfly (2:34.27).

Nauna nang nakaginto si Mojdeh sa 50m freestyle (31.01), 100m breaststroke (1:23.33), 400m Individual Medley (5:30.75), 200m freestyle (2:25.50), 100m butterfly (1:08.72) at 200m breaststroke (2:57.19).

Nakabawi rin si Male Swimmer of the Year Marc Bryan Dula ng Wisenheimer Academy nang pagharian nito ang boys’ 11-year 200m butterfly sa bendisyon ng 3:03.18 para angkinin ang kanyang nag-iisang gintong medalya.

Maliban sa ginto, umani rin ng pilak si Dula sa 50m butterfly (32.43) at 400m freestyle (5:24.91) at tanso sa 100m backstroke (1:19.96).

Galing naman kay Angela Torrico ang hu­ling ginto ng PSL matapos pagreynahan ang girls’ 11-year 100m backstroke sa bilis na 1:20.72 habang nakahirit din ito ng tanso sa 50m breaststroke (40.45).

Nagdagdag ng pilak si Albren Dayapdapan sa boys’ 13-year 50m breaststroke (34.54).

“We’re happy with the outcome in this competition. It’s really hard to win medals in a world-class event and we’re lucky enough to get 16 gold medals. It only shows that our swimmers are at par with these world-class athletes,” ani PSL President Susan Papa.
