Referees sa La Salle-Adamson games sinuspinde
MANILA, Philippines — Sinuspinde ng UAAP ang mga referees na pumito sa De La Salle University-Adamson University Final Four game sa UAAP Season 80 men’s basketball tournament.
Base sa inilabas na memorando ni UAAP commissioner Rebo Saguisag, agad na pinatawan ng suspensiyon ang mga referees habang nirerebisa ang laro ng Green Archers at Soaring Falcons noong Sabado sa Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“While we are still in the process of evaluating the whole game together with the statistics, the officials that worked your game were immediately suspended with two strongly recommended for being banned for the rest of the season, if only to preserve public confidence in our league,” wika ni Saguisag.
Nauna nang nagsumite ng protesta ang Adamson noong Lunes upang kastiguhin ang ‘masamang tawagan’ kung saan 33 fouls ang ibinigay sa Soaring Falcons laban sa 12 lamang ng Green Archers.
“From the bleacher’s standpoint, and even if one does not know how a foul can be committed, it is loud and clear that the calls made by the referees were downrightly unfair and biased,” ayon sa sulat ni Fr. Aldrin Suan ng Adamson.
Layunin aniya ng protesta na maitama ang anumang pagkakamali para hindi na ito maulit sa mga susunod na laro.
Nanalo ang La Salle sa naturang laro via 82-75 come-from-behind win na siyang naging daan upang masungkit nito ang unang silya sa best-of-three finals.
