Luistro, Hernandez nagpasiklab sa 125th PSL Series Bicol Leg

MANILA, Philippines — Pinangunahan nina Bicol standouts James Peter Hernandez at Trump Christian Luistro ang mga gold medalists sa 125th Philippine Swimming League (PSL) Short Course Swim Meet na ginaganap sa Mariner's Polytechnic Colleges Foundation sa Rawis, Legazpi City.

Pinagharian ni Hernandez ang boys’ 15-over 50m butterfly nang irehistro nito ang 28.15 segundo upang ta­lunin sina Dinry Fugentes (28.32) at Nadler Bolima (29.12) na nagkasya sa pilak at tanso, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

Naitala naman ni Luistro ang 43.78 segundo para mamayagpag sa boys’ 9-year 50m breaststroke laban kina John Salinel na may malayong 48.13 segundo para sa ikalawa at Kirsten Agao na nagsumite ng 57.64 para sa ikatlong puwesto.

“We’re happy to be back here in Bicol. We believe that we have a lot of talented swimmers here and we’re looking forward to discover more talents. We would like to thank Commodore Dante Jimenez for hosting this huge event,” pahayag ni PSL President Susan Papa.

Nakahirit din ng ginto sina Marc Bryan Dula ng Wisenheimer Academy (boys’ 10-year 100m IM) at Lee Grant Cabral ng Diliman Preparatory School (boys’ 11-year 50m breaststroke) gayundin sina Alea Tence (girls’ 10-year 100m IM), Elle Alavy-Chafi (girls’ 11-year 100m IM), Margarette Dee (girls’ 12-year 100m IM), Isis Arnaldo (girls’ 13-year 100m IM), Lhaarny Agnas (girls’ 14-year 100m IM) at Alfonso Cabanela (boys’ 8-year 50m backstroke).

Ang iba pang gold medalists ay sina Reymond De Leon, Julius Vasquez, Angel Chan, Leonardo Dalman III, Carl Jude Tence, Heleina Glorioso, Ethan Fajardo, Alfonso Cabanela at Zyrilyn Anonuevo habang nakasiguro rin ng medalya sina John Mahayhay, Jan Talavera, Gian Nunez at Maricris Serrano.

Ang torneo ay magsisilbing tryout para sa international competitions sa  Hamilton Swimming Championship sa Dubai, United Arab Emirates sa Disyembre.

“This is the 4th Swim Meet of Commodore Jaime Jimenez spearheaded by Falcon swim team headed by Awie Adornado and Ibalong Magayon Swim Club Arlon Rances. Commodore Dante Jimenez, president of Mariners Polytechnic Foundation helped PSL by allowing the free use of the pool and accommodation in Rawis,” dagdag ni Papa.
