DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines — Kaagad pag-aagawan ang mga ilalatag na gintong medalya sa pagsambulat ngayon ng mga aksyon sa athle­tics at swimming events ng 2017 Batang Pinoy Games Visayas Leg.

Idaraos ang track and field competition sa Gov. Mariano Perdices Memorial Stadium habang pakakawalan ang swimming event sa Lorenzo G. Teves Memorial Aqua Center.

Bukod sa athletics at swimming, ang iba pang events na nakahanay ay ang archery, arnis, badminton, baseball, basketball, boxing, chess, dancesport, karatedo, lawn tennis, pencaksilat, softball, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball at beach volleyball.

Kahapon ay matagumpay na isinagawa ang simpleng opening ceremonies sa Lamberto Macias Sports Center na dinaluhan nina Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio “Ipe” Remollo at PSC Commissioner Celia Kiram, kumatawan kay PSC chairman Butch Ramirez na ipinatawag ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kamakalawa sa Malacañang.

Ang Mindanao regionals ang kick-off leg sana ng Batang Pinoy, ngunit ito ay kinansela bunga ng gulo sa Marawi City noong Mayo.

Idinaos naman ang Luzon Leg sa Vigan, Ilocos Sur noong naka­raang buwan.

Samantala, magdaraos naman ang Philippine Sports Institute ng isang serye ng sports science talks sa Foundation University campus simula bukas, ayon kay PSI deputy director for grassroots Salvador Marlon Malbog IV, dating basketball coach sa Ateneo de Davao.

“We will have courses in first aid, sports nutrition, performance analysis among children, maximizing performance using movement efficiency screening and sports nutrition,” wika ni Malbog sa four-day course para sa mga coaches at officials ng Batang Pinoy Visayas regionals.
