Donaire lalaban sa promotion ni Schaefer
MANILA, Philippines - Mula sa Top Rank Promotions ay lalaban na si dating four-division world champion Nonito ‘The Filipino Flash’ Donaire Jr. para sa Ringstar Sports ni Richard Schaefer, ang dating Chief Executive Officer ng Golden Boy Promotions ni Oscar De La Hoya.
Sinabi ni Schaefer na naniniwala pa rin siyang muling makapagsusuot ang 34-anyos na si Donaire ng world boxing crown.
“He’s one of those guys who is never in a bad fight. I am very excited to get involved with him at this point of his career. I think there are some big fights ahead for him,” wika ni Schaefer sa panayam ng ESPN.
Kasalukuyang bitbit ng tubong Talibon, Bohol ang 37-4-0 win-loss-draw ring record kasama ang 24 knockouts.
Nakipaghiwalay si Donaire sa Top Rank ni Bob Arum matapos mabigong makakuha ng rematch kay Mexican Jessie Magdaleno.
Si Magdaleno ang umagaw sa hawak na world super bantamweight belt ni Donaire sa undercard ng Manny Pacquiao-Jessie Vargas fight sa Las Vegas noong Nobyembre.
Ilan sa mga maaaring hamunin ni Donaire sa kanyang pag-akyat sa featherweight class ay sina world titleholders Leo Santa Cruz, Abner Mares at Lee Selby at sina dating world titlist Carl Frampton.
“The thought of the mega fights against the likes of Mares, Santa Cruz, Selby or Frampton gets my blood boiling,” wika ni Donaire, kasalukuyang nagsasanay sa Japan.
Sa ilalim ng Top Rank ay hinirang si Donaire bilang 2012 Fighter of the Year at nagkampeon sa flyweight, bantamweight, super bantamweight at featherweight divisions.
