Puerto Princesa Beach Sportsfest: Fil-Am swimmer umagaw ng eksena

Nag-pose sina women’s champion Courtney Melissa Tan-Gray at men’s winner Teodoro Roy Canete kasama sina Puerto Princesa City Mayor Luis M. Marcaida III  at event organizer Dale Evangelista.

PUERTO Princesa City, Palawan, Philippines - Umagaw ng pansin ang isang Fiipino-American sa 2017 Pilipinas International Beach Sports Festival na nagbukas dito kahapon sa Baywalk.

Ginamit ni Courtney Melissa Tan-Gray, lumaki sa Palawan, ang kanyang pagiging pamilyar at eksperyensa sa lugar para pagreynahan ang women’s 10-k open water swimming competition.

Nagtala ang 19-anyos na si Gray, anak sa isang Pinay ng isang retiradong American soldier na nakabase ngayon sa Florida, ng bilis na dalawang oras, 38 minuto at 02 segundo para pagbidahan ang event.

Pumangalawa naman si Erika Kristy Lukang sa kanyang oras na 2:42.57.

“I’m so happy to win this event at home. It was fun,” wika ni Gray, nagtapos kamakailan sa British International School sa Phuket, Thailand.

Nag-aral si Gray sa Hope Christian School-Palawan at lumipat sa Trace College-Laguna noong 2010 sa panghihikayat ni dating national coach Carlos “Pinky” Brosas at sa St. Paul’s Pasig noong 2013.

“With my performance today, I think I’m ready to compete in another level. I really hope to represent the country in the coming SEA Games in Malaysia, ” ani Gray.
