PSE slates free investing webinar on Nov 4 and 11

CEBU, Philippines - The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) is encouraging the Cebuano investment community to participate in the online investment coaching slated on November 4 and 11.

The PSE's free webinar dubbed "The Right Ingredients; A guide managing your portfolio," aims to further equip stock market investors to manage their investments well.

To be conducted by the PSE Academy, the official market education website of the Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) created in partnership with the PSE Foundation, Inc., this virtual coaching is part of  PSE's active move to boost the stock market investments in the Philippines, attracting the mainstream investors,

    A similar webinar on November 11 will also be conducted entitled "10 Habits of Happy Investors." Both events are held at 3:30 to 5:30 in the afternoon.

  Webinars are online seminars that feature a live presentation while allowing attendees to send questions via chat. The PSE Webinars are a key initiative of the Exchange to enhance stock market knowledge through an accessible, convenient, and web-based learning facility.

The introduction of online-based trade exchanges platform is seen to accelerate the target of PSE to hit the one million investors to the country's exchange in the short term.

   This confidence is being backed up by the phenomenal growth of online traders enrolled in online accounts and mobile apps.

  Online stock exchange channels allow investors to play in the stock market anytime, and anywhere, said PSE assistant vice president John Benette B. Mamangun in an interview earlier.

 Mamangun, who is also the PSE head for corporate planning and investor relations division, said that with the 40 percent to 45 percent growth of the online stock market investors, hitting the 1 million mark is not difficult to achieve within the shorter span of time.

  At present, PSE recorded over 700 thousand investors trading in the stock market, about 240 thousand are online investors trading through the online platforms offered its accredited broker companies.

 About 50 percent of PSE traders are Filipinos, while the other half are foreign stock market investors.

 Although the interest is very high among capital market savvy investors, PSE hopes that ordinary filipinos, or even the monthly earner individuals will be able to appreciate the stock market as a way of building up their savings.  (FREEMAN)
