Reyes optimistiko na makakapasok ang Gilas sa Last 16
SEVILLE, Spain - Sa kanilang tatlong sunod na kabiguan ay puwersado ang Gilas Pilipinas na mapagwagian ang kanilng huling dalawang laro sa Group B sa 2014 FIBA World Cup.
Optimisko si Gilas Pilipinas coach Chot Reyes na makakapasok sila sa 16-team knockout stage ng quadrennial meet matapos lumaban nang husto kontra sa Croatia, Greece at Argentina.
“Everybody’s beating everybody in the group,” sabi ni Reyes sa pagtingin niya sa Group B chart kung saan may 3-0 baraha ang Greece kasunod ang Argentina, Senegal at Croatia na may magkakatulad na 2-1 baraha sa itaas ng Gilas Pilipinas at Puerto Rico na may magkaparehong 0-3 marka.
Ang top four ang aabante sa playoff matches at ang laro ng Gilas Pilipinas at Puerto Rican ang magsisilbing do-or-die match.
“(We’ll go) all out,” wika ng Gilas bench chieftain.
“For us, there’s no such thing as must-win. If we think of those must-wins, it will just detract us. We’ll just go all out every game, every possession,” dagdag pa nito.
“From the start, we know it’s very hard to get to the second round, but it’s still wide open. Nobody is above 2-0. We win our next two games; we get two (games) as well,” sabi ni Reyes.
“But to get that (two wins), we need to win our next game. We need to get the one first. Hopefully, we’ll find it in our next game,” dagdag pa nito.
