Giuseppe FC scores twinkill in CIS Friendship Cup
CEBU, Philippines - Giuseppe FC bagged two titles at the first day of the 2017 Cebu International School Friendship Cup-Kyle Weckman and James Jung Memorial Football Tournament yesterday at the CIS field in Barangay Pit-os, Cebu City.
Giuseppe became the first squad to win a double championship after nabbing the under-7 and under-9 crowns.
Giuseppe won the under-7 title over CPMS after edging the latter in terms of field goals. Both Giuseppe and CPMS registered a total of seven points after the tournament.
Giuseppe then dumped Guardian Strikers, 4-0, in the finals to snare the under-9 trophy. Before upending the Strikers, Giuseppe first annihilated Singapore School, 4-0.
Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu and Tabor Hills, for their part, also won titles in their respective divisions.
SHS-AdC ruled the boys 17 after silencing MotorAce, 2-0, while Tabor Hills reigned supreme in the under-19 after collecting 13 points. Host team CIS settled for the runner-up trophy with eight points. (FREEMAN)
