Bidding for Tabunok market on March 9
CEBU, Philippines - Following the pre-bidding last week, the Talisay City government said the bidding for the second and third phases totaling P113 million for the construction of the new Tabunok Public Market will be on March 9.
City Engineer Gamaliel Vicente Jr. said only four companies took part in the pre-bidding and the deadline in acquiring bidding documents is today.
The first phase was for the construction of the commercial and administrative building while the second phase, with a budget of P98 million, is for the building housing the fish, meat, dry goods, vegetable sections and includes an elevated covered parking. The third phase is for the construction of a sewage treatment plant.
Vicente said one of the bidders is Tuanson Construction, the current contractor of the first phase of the project totaling P52 million.
With construction of phase one at 81.89 percent as of February 10, Vicente was confident it would be finished by April 8, which is two months ahead of the target, which is June 8.
This, Vicente said, fulfils Mayor Eduardo Gullas' request that it be completed ahead of schedule. (FREEMAN)
