Drug surenderee shot dead

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – Motorcycle-riding men shot dead a drug surenderee in Plaridel, Bulacan yesterday morning.

Miguel Pabalate was walking in Barangay Bagong Silang when he was killed. He died at the scene.

Police said Pabalate surrendered to authorities during the conduct of Oplan Tokhang in their village last year.

Probers have yet to determine the motive for the killing.

Meanwhile, in Ilocos Sur, a drug surenderee is fighting for his life in a hospital after he was shot by an unidentified assailant on Tuesday.

William Arthur, 46, was tending his variety store in Barangay Pug-os, Sinait when he was shot.

Probers said the gunman, who posed as a customer, fled on a motorcycle.
