Pagpapaigting sa opensiba ng NPA, pinalagan ni Bello
MANILA, Philippines - Pinalagan ni Labor Secretary at government chief negotiator sa National Democratic Front (NDF) na si Silvestre Bello II ang umano’y ipinalabas na kautusan ng Communist Party of the Phils. sa kanilang armed-wing na New Peoples Army na paigtingin ang opensiba matapos ideklara ang martial law ni Pangulong Duterte sa rehiyon ng Mindanao.
Isa umano itong insulto sa Pangulo, ayon pa kay Bello kasabay nang pagsasabing mali ang pagkakaunawa ng CPP sa tunay na intensyon ni Pangulong Duterte sa pagdedeklara ng martial law.
“At the very least, it was an insult to the candor and genuineness displayed by the President and the GRP (Government of the Republic of the Philippines) Panel in talking peace. At worse, it betrays the absence of sincerity of the CPP in the negotiating table,” dagdag pa ng chief government negotiator.
Binigyang-diin ni Bello na hindi ang communist rebels ang target sa pagdedeklara ng Martial Law ni Pangulong Duterte sa Mindanao kundi ang Maute group at Abu Sayyaf Group na naghasik ng terorismo sa Marawi City.
“There was a need to restore law and order, protect the lives of the citizens and preserve private and state properties following the clashes between government troops and members of the Maute group,” dagdag pa ng kalihim.
Nanawagan si Bello sa liderato ng CPP na itama ang kanilang maling pagkakaunawa at bawiin ang kautusan nitong opensiba.
