Seguridad sa Palaro tiniyak ni Del Rosario

MANILA, Philippines - Sa gitna ng isyu sa nangyaring insidente sa Maguindanao kamakailan ay siniguro naman ni Davao del Norte Governor Rodolfo P. Del Rosario ang kaligtasan ng mga lalahok sa Palarong Pambansa na nakatakda sa Mayo 3-9.

Nagkakaroon ng Memorandum of Agreement sa pagitan ng probinsya at ng Department of Education na tumitiyak sa seguridad ng 2015 Palarong Pambansa.

“Unlike the public perception, our region is generally peaceful because we are located in a metropolitan area,” sabi ni Del Rosario.

“Besides, we will have 1,500 military and police personnel looking after the peace and safety of our Palaro athletes and officials.”

Ito ang unang pagkakataon na pamamahalaan ng Davao del Norte ang taunang sports meet.

 “We have been attempting to host it for 65 years,” dagdag ni Del Rosario.

Ipinakita naman ni DepEd Secretary Bro. Armin Luistro ang kanyang kumpiyansa sa security plan ng probinsya.

“Sometimes Manila media has to be more precise where the disturbances occur and not gene-ralize,” wika ni Luistro.

 Napukaw ang atensyon ng publiko sa Min-danao matapos mapaslang ang 44 miyembro ng Special Action Force police sa pakikipaglaban sa Moro National Liberation Front at sa Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters sa Maguindanao noong Enero 26.

Ang slogan ng Davao del Norte para sa 2015 Pa-laro ay “Sports: Breaking Borders, Building Peace.”

Pinuri ni Luistro ang kahandaan ng probinsya kaugnay sa mga gagamiting playing venues at billeting sites para sa 2015 Palaro.

“In my knowledge, in the past Palaro, not a single one of those who hosted had the facilities ready by the time we inspected it,” ani Luistro. ”I could sleep very well with the fact that the team that went around assured me that all the major facilities are already in place. And if we held the Palaro tomorrow, at least facilities-wise, they are ready.”

Ang mga paglalabanang sports events para sa 2015 Palaro ay ang archery, arnis, swimming, athletics, badminton, baseball, boxing, chess, football, gymnastics, sepak takraw, softball, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis at volleyball.
