Pinoys in Afghanistan urged to go home

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday issued alert level 3 for Afghanistan due to tensions following the country's presidential elections last month.

"Alert Level 3 is declared when violent disturbances or external aggression occurs in a limited area of a country. With this announcement, Filipinos in Afghanistan are strongly encouraged to volunteer to return to the Philippines," the state agency said.

DFA said the Philippine government maintains a deployment ban on all Filipino workers to Afghanistan.

"The DFA continues to monitor the political and security developments in Afghanistan," the state agency said.
