Okada unveils grand fountain

MANILA, Philippines - Okada Manila, the newest casino resort at the 100-hectare Entertainment City in Parañaque, unveiled on Friday what it dubbed as the world’s largest multicolor dancing water fountain and is set to join the ranks of the country’s top tourism landmarks.

The official debut of the fountain is the latest in a series of launches of the grand casino hotel owned by Japanese casino mogul Kazuo Okada. The integrated resort has been opening in phases since December last year.

Last week’s launch used a spectacular dancing water fountain show that showcased a dramatic combination of multicolor lights, water and classical music that rivals the fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas.

The show was enhanced with a highly immersive projection mapping onto the glass surface of the 800-meter long crystal corridor surrounding the fountain, which created a whimsical augmented and interactive reality.

Furthermore, the grand launch of the fountain utilized the combination of digital technology, live acrobatic and circus performances.

The fountain is situated at the heart of the 44-hectare resort.

On top of the fountain show, Okada Manila also had multi-awarded singer, songwriter and record producer Robin Thicke join the grand celebration and perform his hit songs.

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach hosted the grand unveiling event.

Okada Manila offers 40 dining establishments including culinary masterpieces of Michelin-star chef Hirofumi Imamura at the Japanese Kappou Imamura restaurant.

There are also retail shops featuring other food and beverage outlets and specialty local and international brands.

The shops are housed inside the arched-glass crystal corridor and will be strategically located between the fountain and Okada Avenue, giving guests a delightful retail experience.

Okada is the third hotel and gaming company to open at the Entertainment City.

The Entertainment City is a Las Vegas-style 100-hectare development by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp., the state-owned gaming regulator.

Other casino resorts are Solaire Resort and Casino by ports tycoon Enrique Razon and City of Dreams by Melco Crown Philippines.
